August Vogue new issue 2010
THE August issue of Vogue is out this week and with it comes a preview of all the new collections. But, as Alexandra Shulman explains, planning your autumn look needn’t spell the end of summer.
“I always feel mixed emotions looking at the August issue of Vogue, where we preview the new collections,” says Shulman. “The pages of tempting autumn looks are beguiling, but as they arrive on my desk, I haven’t yet had my summer and I feel as if precious time is being snatched. However this year that pain is minimised by the fantastic offering of clothes that I might actually be able to wear. Our designer collections round-up, shot by Daniel Jackson, and Lisa Armstrong’s article Get Real point up the appeal of perfectly straightforward clothes; covetable coats, wearable knitwear, longer-length skirts, and a welcome injection of winter colour, as shown by Freja Beha Erichsen, our cover girl.”
