Gingham, stripes or plaid?
Gingham and plaid have been challenging stripes to the prize of favourite summer check this season. It was Christopher Kane who put gingham back on the map for spring/summer 2010 – check out Daisy Lowe (left) in one of his sexy, thigh-revealing dresses, subsequently dispelling all notions that gingham is the reserve of dowdy milkmaids. The ubiquitous checked shirt, which has found ardent fans in the Pixie Geldof/Coco Sumner (Sting’s daughter) set, and among every teen muso, continues to ride high in the style stakes – socialite Olivia Palermo gives it a polished twist with tailored shorts and a flawless blow-dry (right).
