Eva Green interview

“WHEN people say ‘You’re so beautiful’ it makes me want to kill myself!” Eva Green confesses as we catch up with the actress to talk about her new film, Cracks. “As an actress you want to be seen for what you do, for the characters you can play, otherwise I’d be a model.”

Despite her dismissal of the superficialities of her chosen profession, Green has made a name for herself as an alternative beauty and designer muse – modelling for Christian Dior and Emporio Armani – and making famously controversial red carpet choices.

“Oh the fashion police,” she sighs with a laugh. “I just love theatrical, dramatic designers – like Jean Paul Gaultier, Galliano and McQueen – events like that are for dressing up, you’re like a little girl again. I wouldn’t wear those dresses in real life. When I’m not working I just like to be comfortable: I love black, nothing tight, no heels, no make-up – it’s nice to be able to breathe!”
